You only need to know three formats to read odds
Odds on a betting site can be displayed in three ways — decimal, fractional and American. All three are just different ways of expressing the same number.
Example 1 (underdog): Team A's win odds are 3.00 in decimal, 2/1 in fractional, +200 in American. A ৳1,000 bet on Team A returns ৳3,000 if they win — ৳2,000 profit plus the original ৳1,000 stake. If Team A loses, the ৳1,000 is gone.
Example 2 (favourite): Team B's win odds are 1.50 in decimal, 1/2 in fractional, -200 in American. The minus sign means you need to risk ৳200 to make ৳100 profit. A ৳1,000 bet on Team B returns a total of ৳1,500 if they win (৳500 profit).
Decimal format is the easiest — just multiply the stake by the odds to get the total return.
